Thyself
See the Introductory Section for complete
details on Harbin facilities.
Harbin is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We suggest you bring a towel, flashlight and appropriate
footwear for rugged terrain. Check the weather
forecast for current conditions.
The pool area is clothing optional, and the dressing facilities
are co-ed.
Alcohol, drugs and pets are not permitted. (No pets may
be left in vehicles.)
No cameras allowed.
Smoking is restricted to a specific area by the parking
lot.
Open fires, candles and camp stoves are strictly forbidden.
• Hikers should wear brightly-colored clothing when approaching property boundaries, especially during hunting season (Aug 11 to Sept 26).
Guests must be 18 years or older, or accompanied by parent/guardian.
Rooms are phone-free. Cell phones should be turned off
upon arrival. Public pay phones are available, and a cyberstation
is located in the upper Stonefront building for internet access.
The warm pool is often drained on the first Tuesday of
a month. This allows us to make repairs and do maintenance on
the water purification system. The cold plunge then becomes hot;
the heart pool serves as the warm pool; the large swimming pool
serves as the cold plunge.

Families
with Children
Harbin is a quiet and rather rustic retreat center, and, as such,
is not an entertaining or especially appropriate place to bring
children for a vacation. We have established a number of rules
to ensure a safe visit for children, and to preserve a restful
retreat atmosphere for adults. Please familiarize yourself with
the following rules, as they are strictly enforced.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible
adult at all times. We highly recommend that at least two adults
arrive prepared to take turns supervising a child, freeing each
other to enjoy a soak, massage, meditation or other "adult" activities.
Families may camp away from the Mainside area. Children
under the age of 18 are not allowed in rooms.
Children are allowed in the mainside area from 10 AM to
8 PM in the summer months, and 10 AM to dusk in the winter. This includes decks, sleeping deck, dressing room,
guest kitchen and the movie theater. If your children are able
to conform to adult standards of behavior, they may be present
in the restaurant or movie theater after hours.
Children may use the heart-shaped pool and large swimming
pool only. Those not toilet-trained must wear plastic pants.
If you have questions or concerns about our policies for families,
please contact us for clarification before your visit.
Workshop
Attendees
Workshops at Harbin are offered by
independent teachers, facilitators and institutes. Advance arrangements
should be made directly with the organizers, as Harbin does not
handle workshop registration.
Lost and Found
If you have lost belongings during a recent visit, please contact our Housekeeping Department (707-987-2994, ext. 124) as soon as possible. Due to limited storage space, articles can be held for only 30 days.
